The Gallery Collection

WILLIAM MORRIS (1834-1896), world-famous designer, poet, political activist and craftsman, was a founder member of the Arts and Crafts movement in London. Committed to a Utopian dream of ‘the entitlement of all to satisfaction in their work’ and in true craftsmanship, his vision became a reality when in 1861 he set up Morris, Marshall Faulkener and Company with a number of gifted colleagues and artistic friends, to design and produce elegant interior furnishings. The exquisitely designed textiles, wallpapers, wall hangings and rugs Morris produced proved remarkably successful and since that time, the brand’s popularity hasn’t waned. Today homewear and fashion products using William Morris designs continue to lead the way in the international market.
Now, for the first time, these gorgeous patterns are being incorporated into a range of 12 optical designer frames, each in 3 colours, sold with beautiful, coordinating folding cases and lens cloths. A contribution to the work of the gallery will be made for every item sold in the collection to help the conservation programme and continue the work of the custodians.
*A minimum order of 8 William Morris Gallery frames applies to opening orders for UK opticians
